seanglass' first and oldest friend is his teddy
bear, Teddy. Teddy used to have a squeak-box
inside. seanglass would squeeze teddy to
make the squeaker work. The two
communicated via a secret squeaking morse
code.
For the awkwardly precocious young boy,
attempts to make friends were mostly
abysmal endeavors. The other children and
even some adults labeled him as "weird".
Sadder still, kids in the neighborhood rejected
Teddy. None understood the secret squeaks.
Not that anyone ever tried. Undaunted, the
pair set out to create friends that would be
ideal companions for both.
seanglass made puppets that loved them. As
his best friend looked on in support, he crafted
them a world. He wove a new reality with
castles and monorails from sticks, paper
bags, fabric, buttons, old shoes, refrigerator
boxes, string, glue, old furniture and anything
else he could find.  The residents in their
perfect community would say nice things to
each other and solve their problems
diplomatically. Everyone looked out for the
common good. This puppet peopled paradise
was their secret hideaway for many years.
Some time ago, Teddy lost his voice in a
tragic bed-jumping incident. At first, he was
inconsolable and withdrew into himself. With
the love and support of seanglass and their
puppet friends, Teddy slowly learned to
communicate in a language of shakes and
nodding. The actual site of their ideal world
has been long dismantled. Their makeshift
Utopia still stands in their hearts as a symbol
of friendship and  peace.
seanglass still believes in changing the world
through his art. His love of art-making with
found objects continues. He and Teddy still
make puppets together. BFF.
